After speaking at the "Giovanni Battista de Rossi" conference just a few weeks ago, Fabrizio Bisconti (* 1955) passed away completely unexpectedly after a short illness. It hits us all like a blow. We are losing an extremely competent and lovable colleague and teacher.

On the occasion of the 200th birthday of the Roman Christian archaeologist Giovanni Battista de Rossi (1822-1894), the Vatican has issued a special stamp for 2.50 euros. The stamps or the first day cover can be purchased at the Vatican post office or in stamp shops (such as directly at the Vatican Santarossa). The Pontifical Institute for Christian Archaeology and the Pontifical Commission for Christian Archaeology are organising a series of visits and lectures throughout the year.
